Introducing Amber Lee - the project coordinator responsible for the supply of aluminium body kits and accessories for 190 Completely Knocked Down buses delivered to Uzbekistan.
"That was the first project I participated and I thought it would be difficult. I am very fortunate that Gemilang has entrusted me to co-ordinate this important project. With guidance from many colleagues in Gemilang, I was able to complete the project as scheduled."
Prior to joining Gemilang in January 2022, Amber has already gained experience as a project coordinator. Coming from the construction industry background, she brought over her management skills in fulfilling her duty with tenacity and diligence to ensure the project she is in charge with to finish smoothly.
As a project coordinator, Amber collaborates with her team members in order to keep a smooth workflow while staying informed about the project development and relays any pertinent information to her clients on the project's progress update while also considering their feedback.
Having a good understanding of the process and the product is crucial for keeping the workflow uninterrupted. Amber emphasized: "Software knowledge and product knowledge is important to delivering a project successfully."
Besides that, Amber is also the President of Gemilang Sports & Recreation Club where she and the committee members will organise regular sporting activities among the Gemilang family to promote and establish good rapport between her colleagues.
Having mindful communication and good relationship among her colleagues are equally important to establish a harmonic workplace environment.
"As a task-oriented person, I could come off as confrontational to others just to get the work done. This is the challenge that I faced and I constantly reminding myself to use considerate words while communication with my colleagues."
To be more understanding and forgiving, Amber learns that solving people's problems is as important as solving technical problems. Without her team members, the projects will not be able to finish smoothly. After all, there is not Superman, but Super Team.
